About the role
Mastercard is seeking a Business Development Manager to lead its B2B customer strategy for financial institutions, merchants and other partners in Japan. The role combines consultative sales, account management and cross‑functional collaboration to expand existing relationships and create new business opportunities.
Key responsibilities
- Design and drive business growth with key customers as an Account Manager.
- Manage existing relationships, identify opportunities and align customer needs with Mastercard solutions.
- Develop new partners in line with Mastercard’s sales development strategy.
- Prepare customized pitches and proposals to address client requirements.
- Lead client engagement throughout the sales cycle and negotiate favorable outcomes.
- Oversee client servicing, satisfaction and reporting to grow revenue.
- Cross‑sell relevant Mastercard solutions and manage contract negotiations.
Required profile
- Fluent in Japanese and business‑level English.
- Basic business skills such as multitasking, analysis, documentation and presentation.
- Experience in consultative sales or business development preferred.
- Knowledge of payments, card business or IT/strategy consulting is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to manage complex internal and external relationships.
