Consultant – Banking & Financial Services & Insurance & Asset Management (Tokyo)

About the role

Oliver Wyman, a business of Marsh, is recruiting Associates, Engagement Managers and Principals for its Banking & Financial Services and Insurance & Asset Management practices in Tokyo. The practices advise banks, insurers, asset managers, payments providers and wealth managers on strategy, regulation, digital and AI-driven transformation, sustainable finance and performance improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Principals: lead complex engagements end to end, advise client executives, own and expand client relationships, generate thought leadership, and lead, develop and retain talent.
• Engagement Managers: run day-to-day delivery of workstreams, structure problems and run quantitative and qualitative analyses, mentor project teams, present findings to clients and support Principals and Partners in proposals and pitches.
• Associates: manage individual project modules such as hypothesis development, data collection, modelling and analysis, research and insights, and support proposals and pitches.

Required profile

• 4-6 years of experience for Associates, 6-8 for Engagement Managers and 8-10 for Principals, preferably in strategy consulting or similar project-based, team-oriented settings.
• Deep subject-matter expertise in financial services, with breadth or depth in a sub-sector such as retail banking, corporate banking, payments, wealth or insurance.
• Track record managing teams or major workstreams and delivering measurable client impact.
• Undergraduate and/or advanced degree from a top academic program.
• Fluency in Japanese (N1) and English is required; willingness to travel.
