Customer Engineer I – Field Service (DDP)

About the role

As a DDP Customer Engineer I at Applied Materials you will act as the direct liaison with customers, installing, maintaining and upgrading advanced semiconductor and display equipment while using digital analytics to troubleshoot issues.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Senior Field Service Engineers to install, maintain, and upgrade customer equipment.
• Use digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply basic diagnostic techniques.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems (training provided).
• Coordinate and communicate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations and exceptional service.

Required profile

• Associate degree, military technical training, field service experience, or trade certification.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving basic technical challenges.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport for travel.

• Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Use of hand tools and digital multimeters.
• Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum systems, and thermodynamics.
