ETCH Customer Engineer I

About the role

As an ETCH Customer Engineer I at Applied Materials, you will act as the primary liaison with customers, installing, maintaining, and upgrading advanced semiconductor and display equipment. You will use digital analytics and basic diagnostic techniques to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues while working closely with senior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Senior Field Service Engineers to install, maintain, and upgrade customer equipment.
• Use digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply basic diagnostic techniques.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic, and gas systems (training provided).
• Coordinate and communicate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations.

Required profile

• Associate degree, military technical training, field service experience, or trade certification.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport for travel.

Required skills

• Digital analytics tools.
• Basic diagnostic techniques.
• Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Hand tools, digital multimeters, and ability to read schematics.
• Knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, and thermodynamics (preferred).
