Data Engineer – ADAS/AD Systems

About the role

Compal is seeking an experienced Data Engineer to process and analyze large‑scale datasets for ADAS/AD software, supporting the development of high‑performance far‑infrared sensors and AI‑driven safety solutions. The role focuses on improving software performance and AI algorithm robustness within the automotive domain.

Key responsibilities

• Data analysis, management, and utilization of ADAS/AD software.
• Verification and validation of AI algorithm performance, KPI measurement, and experimental design.
• Planning and organizing data collection, database management, and creation of corner cases.
• Statistical analysis, results reporting, and proposing improvements.
• Creating and enhancing AI training datasets.
• Collaborating with other departments to promote Kaizen in data management.

Required profile

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• Experience in ADAS systems development or embedded Linux.
• Minimum five years of hands‑on data analysis.
• Experience developing or evaluating image‑recognition AI (object detection, 3D depth estimation, tracking, fusion).
• Leadership ability to manage challenges.
• Native‑level Japanese speaker; intermediate English preferred.
