Director, Commercial Sales

About the role

Datadog is looking for a Director, Commercial Sales in Tokyo. The role provides strategy, mentorship and guidance for Commercial Sales Managers and their direct reports, supporting the growth of one of the company's largest business lines and bringing a proven product to a multi-billion dollar market. The company operates as a hybrid workplace.

Key responsibilities

• Forecast performance based on team productivity and provide regular, accurate revenue forecasts to leadership
• Hire, oversee and train a team of Commercial Sales Managers, and ramp up new team members through coaching
• Develop and monitor outbound prospecting strategies to increase customer acquisition
• Evaluate trends to identify areas for improvement and surface best practices
• Collaborate with stakeholder departments on go-to-market strategies, training curriculum and hiring goals

Required profile

• 6+ years of experience in hi-tech, cycle direct sales
• Able to accurately forecast team performance
• Proven experience overseeing first-line managers across the sales cycle
• Passion for coaching, mentorship and team management
• Customer-centric, with a track record of developing satisfied customers
• Strong cross-functional collaboration, organizational and time management skills
