Electrical Technician - Field Service

About the role

This technician position belongs to ABB's Electrification business area, Service Division, and reports to the Field Service Manager. You will carry out service work at customer sites following procedures and work instructions, in line with ABB's quality and safety standards. The role involves frequent short- and long-term trips.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on-site service for power distribution equipment such as medium-voltage and low-voltage switchgear, protection relays, ring main units, transformers, circuit breakers, UPS systems and voltage sag compensation devices
• Take part in installation supervision, commissioning and adjustment, maintenance and troubleshooting
• Work with customers on site to identify opportunities to improve operations and solve technical problems
• Perform field service on site and remotely, analyse technical issues and respond within your assigned service areas and product lines
• Prepare material lists and confirm that materials, parts and equipment are available and meet quality standards

Required profile

• Valid Japanese driver's licence
• Willingness to travel frequently, including short- and long-term assignments
• Business-level Japanese; candidates with electrical experience may qualify with conversational Japanese
• No prior electrical experience required; training is provided before starting
