Field Sales Engineer - Electronics

About the role

Arrow is hiring a Field Sales Engineer (FSE) in Osaka, Japan, in its electronics sales business. The role covers defining markets and customers in the assigned territory, building relationships and promoting value-added supply chain and life-cycle programs. It is a full-time position based at Shin-Osaka Terasaki 3rd Building.

Key responsibilities

• Define critical markets and new customers in the assigned sales territory, plan the strategy and build key relationships to support solution selling.
• Maintain and promote relationships with customer contacts who influence design opportunities and help resolve existing business challenges.
• Ensure customer satisfaction on supply chain management and other value-added services, and interact with vendors and customers in a technical and engineering environment.
• Prepare quarterly internal business reviews (iQBR) with strategic plans and implementation steps, and lead regular QBRs with major customers.
• Create demand for Arrow products and services and work with engineers and designers to specify, select and resolve electronic board designs with Arrow's franchised suppliers.
• Promote and sell the value-add, supply chain and full life-cycle programs, and build relationships with key suppliers.

Required profile

• Typically a 4-year degree and 2-4 years of related experience, or an advanced degree without experience, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience creating demand for Arrow products and services.
• Ability to work with engineers and designers on electronic board designs.
• The role involves a sales compensation plan, with part of the total pay variable and tied to sales-related goals.

Required skills

• Extensive understanding of pricing programs and models in the electronics industry.
• Proficiency in sales tracking systems, Salesforce.com and Oracle.
