Financial Planning & Analysis Senior Analyst - Japan

About the role

An international golf equipment business is hiring a Financial Planning & Analysis Senior Analyst for its Japan Finance team, reporting to the Finance Director. The role supports financial planning, forecasting, reporting and business analysis for the Japan business, working with business leaders and regional stakeholders. It is based in Haneda, Tokyo, with a hybrid schedule of typically three to four days onsite per week.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze monthly and quarterly financial results, including variances in gross profit, operating expenses and other income and expenses.
• Help develop annual plans and forecasts, identify risks and opportunities, and support cost center owners in managing spending.
• Prepare financial reporting packages and management review presentations, and analyze key business metrics.
• Respond to ad hoc requests from business leaders.
• Look for opportunities to improve reporting processes through automation and more efficient ways of working.

Required profile

• Approximately five years of financial planning and analysis experience, including forecasting, financial reporting and business analysis.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Experience in a premium consumer goods or comparable product business is preferred; golf industry experience is not required.
• Experience with mid-sized projects, SAP solution integration or other finance and business areas is an advantage.

Required skills

• Native-level Japanese and advanced business English, able to take part in conferences, give presentations and communicate with international stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to explain financial results, variances, risks and opportunities clearly.
• High IT literacy, particularly with SAP and financial reporting platforms.
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, including clear management presentations.
