Internship - Inspection R&D

About the role

Syntegon Technology K.K. (Japan) is looking for an intern to join its local inspection research and development team. Japan is the global inspection hub of the group, so the focus is on pharmaceutical inspection machines. The internship runs for 6 to 12 months, starting in January 2027, and is paid.

Key responsibilities

• Support the R&D process for new inspection technologies, from market research and specification through development, testing and documentation to the creation of sales material.
• Work on topics chosen according to your skill level, such as new vision software tools, new camera setups, new inspection technologies and artificial intelligence.

Required profile

• Student in a technical field such as physics, chemistry, biology or medicine.
• Experience working in a laboratory environment.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
• Fluent English (speaking, reading and writing); Japanese is not mandatory but a big plus.
• Flexibility and tolerance to adapt to a foreign work environment and daily life.
• Independent, creative and motivated way of working.
• Enrolled at a university or postgraduate school for the whole internship period, with a university document stating the credits earned.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of data processing and/or programming.
