Japanese‑Speaking Sales / Go‑to‑Market Lead – Tokyo

About the role

Outpost is building the infrastructure layer for cross‑border commerce and needs a Japanese‑speaking sales leader in Tokyo. You will own the full sales cycle, from prospecting to closing, and work directly with the CEO and founders to shape the go‑to‑market strategy for Japanese and global merchants.

Key responsibilities

• Build and manage your own pipeline from scratch, conducting outbound outreach to Japanese and international merchants expanding cross‑border.
• Run full‑cycle deals in Japanese and English, handling discovery, demos, negotiations and complex compliance requirements.
• Define and own the Japan/APAC sales motion, creating account‑based playbooks and driving both direct and B2B2B channel sales.
• Iterate sales materials, localising pitch decks and one‑pagers for Japanese buyers and turning closed deals into case studies.

Required profile

• Business‑fluent in Japanese and English, able to run the entire sales process in both languages.
• Proven experience closing full‑cycle B2B sales, preferably in fintech, payments or e‑commerce infrastructure.
• AI‑native mindset: comfortable using AI tools (e.g., Claude) to research accounts, draft outreach sequences and accelerate pipeline generation.
• Ability to grasp complex products (tax, payments, compliance) and explain them simply.
• Self‑starter who builds their own pipeline and thrives in an early‑stage, ambiguous environment.
