Lead Site Mechanic - Kadena AFB, Japan

About the role

A Site Lead Mechanic is needed at Kadena AFB in Japan, leading the effort to operate and maintain aircraft, aircraft subsystems and support equipment. The position is contingent on award. The contractor operates a Contractor Owned and Maintained Parts (COMP) program covering aircraft maintenance, launch and recovery, supply of contractor-owned spares and support equipment, repair and overhaul at FAA-certified repair stations, aircraft paint, and engine repair and overhaul.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the operation and maintenance of aircraft, aircraft subsystems and support equipment
• Manage the COMP program: aircraft maintenance, personnel, materials and inspections, launch and recovery, and supply of contractor-owned spares and support equipment
• Oversee repair and overhaul of repairable spares at FAA-certified repair stations
• Handle aircraft paint and engine repair and overhaul
• Act as on-site liaison with the Government

Required profile

• 5 or more years of aircraft maintenance experience
• 3 or more years maintaining King Air/1900 airliner series aircraft, including complex modifications
• At least one year as a site lead under a similar effort
• Current FAA A&P license
• Demonstrated ability to direct a workforce in aircraft maintenance, repair and modification
• High school diploma or GED minimum
• US citizenship, required to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance

What we offer

• Salary of $90,000 - $150,000
