Professional Services Consultant - Cybersecurity

About the role

Trellix, a cybersecurity company, is hiring a Professional Services Consultant in Tokyo. This is a commissioned position in which the consultant develops and delivers detailed IT solutions through consulting projects, from client identification to final invoicing. Performance is typically evaluated on utilization (billable hours).

Key responsibilities

• SIEM/XDR implementation and operations consulting: threat risk assessment, log ingestion design, correlation rule design, SOC workflow design, product onboarding, rule tuning and new threat coverage.
• SOC operations consulting: answering questions about detection events, supporting alert analysis, proposing detection rules and improving SOC operations.
• Product consulting: paid POCs and support from requirements definition through design, deployment, testing and handover.
• Project management: interacting with company and client managers, cost and schedule monitoring, and possibly project cost estimation, proposals and invoicing.
• Identifying additional product or service opportunities for customers.

Required profile

• More than 3 years of work experience.
• At least 1 year in security-related tasks such as CSIRT support, SOC support (SIEM log analysis, vulnerability response), IT/OT security assessments, investigative research, vulnerability diagnosis or penetration testing.
• More than 2 years of IT experience such as system design or construction, or cloud (required).
• One or more years of security consulting experience preferred; experience in several consulting projects or pre-sales is preferable.
• Strong desire to learn about cybersecurity (required); business-level Japanese and business-level English preferred.

Required skills

• Knowledge of SIEM, SOAR and XDR, including implementation and operations experience.
• Experience with SOC alert analysis and security product implementation and operations.
• Preferred: CISSP, CEH, PMP, GIAC (500 series) or another security certification.
