Sales Specialist - Semiconductor and Utility

About the role

ABB is hiring a Sales Specialist in Tokyo who will sell products, systems and services in the semiconductor and utility sectors, reporting to the Sales Manager. The role covers both account management of existing semiconductor customers and new business development for utilities, with a hybrid work arrangement.

Key responsibilities

• Account management for existing semiconductor customers, building stronger relationships through regular visits and needs assessments
• New business development for the utility sector, including identifying key persons and uncovering customer needs
• Future expansion into deeper account management of existing customers
• Develop new business opportunities and prepare sales proposals
• Sell LV/HV switchgear, transformers, UPS and SCADA systems
• Manage the sales budget and report sales results
• Share information and best practices within the sales team

Required profile

• At least 3 years of B2B sales experience, including new business development and/or account deepening (manufacturing sector preferred)
• Account management experience with key stakeholders across technical, procurement and executive levels
• Ability to elicit customer needs and share them internally
• Technical college degree or above; liberal arts, science or engineering backgrounds welcome
• Japanese at business level (JLPT N1 equivalent); English reading and writing, with occasional use of translation tools for daily email
