Senior DevOps Engineer

About the role

Alpaca is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, build and operate the platforms that power software delivery, edge networking and observability across a global, follow‑the‑sun environment. You will own the platform for the APAC time zone, ensuring high availability and performance for millions of daily requests.

Key responsibilities

• Support engineering teams by troubleshooting platform issues, providing guidance, and participating in the regional on‑call rotation.
• Manage end‑to‑end change pipelines from GitHub Actions through Argo CD and Helm across multiple clusters and regions.
• Operate high‑traffic edge and API gateway infrastructure, maintaining performance, availability and safe change processes.
• Run internal tooling (Grafana, Sentry, Teleport, Metabase, Atlantis) as production services used by the entire engineering organization.
• Advance Platform‑as‑a‑Product by building self‑serve capabilities and golden paths that enable rapid, safe shipping for other teams.

Required profile

• 5+ years in DevOps, Platform, or SRE roles with proven experience operating large‑scale, high‑availability systems.
• Hands‑on experience with multiple Kubernetes clusters, including upgrades, debugging and Helm deployments.
• Strong Infrastructure‑as‑Code expertise using Terraform and a GitOps mindset.
• Experience building and scaling CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions) and continuous delivery with Argo CD or similar tools.
• Day‑to‑day operational fluency on Google Cloud Platform, especially GKE.
