Senior OLTP Architect – Applied Field Engineering

About the role

Snowflake is looking for a senior architect to lead the design and implementation of transactional solutions on the Snowflake Data Cloud. The role sits within the Solution Engineering organization and works closely with product, engineering and field teams to drive adoption of Snowflake’s Postgres capabilities across Japan and APAC.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate the strategic advantages of Snowflake Postgres and address client inquiries throughout the sales cycle.
• Develop and deliver custom demonstrations and proof‑of‑concepts that showcase transactional functionality, security, privacy and governance.
• Collaborate with account teams to define success metrics, resolve technical objections and produce executive summaries of business value.
• Produce technical content such as blog posts, conference presentations, notebooks and demos to support team growth.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience designing and architecting Postgres solutions.
• Strong presentation skills for both technical and executive audiences.
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field preferred.

Required skills

• Hands‑on expertise with Postgres, Snowflake and other OLTP databases (Oracle, SQL Server).
• Knowledge of indexing strategies for transactional workloads.
• Experience with database migration projects.
