Sr. Manager, Launch & Marketing Excellence (Innovative Medicine)

About the role

This role sits in Johnson & Johnson's Innovative Medicine business, in the Strategic Marketing function, and is based in Chiyoda, Tokyo. It is a senior individual contributor position that drives launch and marketing excellence across all three business units in Japan, independently leading high-priority cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Launch Excellence: drive launch readiness for prioritized brands, assess launch status against dashboards, milestones and KPIs, surface risks and gaps, and recommend solutions to brand and business leaders.
• Capture lessons from launches and turn them into practical frameworks, tools and recommendations, and create forums for sharing launch best practices.
• Marketing Excellence: strengthen organizational and individual marketing capabilities by diagnosing capability gaps and designing and managing complex workstreams from strategy to execution and improvement.
• Contribute Japan perspectives to Asia Pacific Launch and Marketing Excellence forums and help translate regional priorities into local impact.

Required profile

• Preferred: five years or more of pharmaceutical business experience in a pharma or biotech company, or relevant launch consulting experience.
• Preferred: successful track record in marketing and new product launches, and experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives without direct reporting authority.
• Preferred: experience working with senior stakeholders in Japan; regional or global collaboration experience is preferred.
• Preferred: Japanese at business level and English at working proficiency.
