Therapeutic Area Sales Manager

About the role

As the Head of Sales for a therapeutic area, you will lead market analysis, strategy development and execution across Japan, working closely with Marketing and Medical Affairs to drive product adoption and market share while ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and promote sales strategies for the assigned therapeutic area, analysing market characteristics and allocating resources such as medical representatives.
• Collaborate with Product Marketing and Medical Affairs, building relationships with key opinion leaders to maximise product value.
• Manage a team of sales managers and medical representatives, setting KPIs, budgets and coaching talent to achieve sales targets.
• Ensure strict adherence to JPMA codes and company compliance standards in all promotional activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a life‑science discipline or a humanities degree with solid knowledge of medicine and pharmacy.
• Minimum 5 years experience as a regional sales manager in hematology or oncology, leading a team of 10+ medical representatives.
• Proven ability to develop sub‑ordinates into managers and to create strategic plans based on logical analysis.

Required skills

• Experience with CRM tools such as Veeva.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong PowerPoint presentation skills.
