About the role

BowerGroupAsia, Inc. (BGA) is seeking a motivated Analyst to join its Japan team in Tokyo. The role supports multinational clients by researching and interpreting Japan’s political‑economic environment, government policies, and market trends.

Key responsibilities

• Research and monitor business and investment issues, including government policies, regulatory developments, industry trends, and consumer behavior.
• Analyze the corporate, business, policy and political implications of national and regional regulations.
• Prepare concise, actionable reports in both Japanese and English for clients and BGA leadership.
• Build and maintain networks with bureaucrats, public officials, business community, civil‑society groups and consumer organisations.
• Support event logistics, stakeholder meetings and other operational activities organised by BGA.

Required profile

• Minimum of five years of experience in the private or public sector.
• Business‑level English and native‑level Japanese with strong written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent research and analytical abilities, with knowledge of sectors such as healthcare, ICT, finance, natural resources and manufacturing.
• Deep understanding of Japan’s political‑economic landscape and ability to navigate it for clients.
• University degree and relevant professional experience.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Competence in basic internet applications and web‑based research tools.
