Business Unit Manager, Front Line Care (Japan)

About the role

Baxter's Front Line Care (FLC) business covers patient monitoring, diagnostics and respiratory health, and this role leads the FLC business in Japan. The manager owns revenue, profitability, forecasting accuracy, business planning, channel management and organizational capability, partnering with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, Service, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Legal and regional/global stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the FLC business in Japan and own annual sales, margin, operating expense and profitability targets
• Develop and run the Annual Operating Plan, Long Range Plan, monthly forecast and Latest Best Estimate, and manage budgets and investments
• Drive commercial strategy, including rental, leasing and service-based models, and partner with Marketing on market development and customer engagement
• Manage distributors, channel partners and key customers, and lead negotiations and account coverage
• Work with Supply Chain, Service, Regulatory Affairs and Quality on forecast alignment, inventory optimization and supply risk mitigation
• Represent Japan in regional and global forums and resolve business-critical issues
• Build and develop a high-performing commercial team, including succession planning and talent development

Required profile

• 8+ years of commercial, marketing, business development or business management experience in the medical device industry
• People management experience leading and developing teams
• Experience with distributors, channel partners or indirect business models
• Business-level Japanese and English
• Desired: strong financial acumen, data-driven decision making, and proven ability to lead in a complex, fast-changing environment
