Customer Engineer II – ETCH Equipment

About the role

As a Customer Engineer II at Applied Materials, you will act as the direct liaison with customers, installing, maintaining and upgrading ETCH equipment. You will use digital analytics and basic diagnostic techniques to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues while working closely with senior engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with Senior Field Service Engineers to install, maintain and upgrade customer equipment.
• Use digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply basic diagnostic techniques under guidance.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic and gas systems (training provided).
• Coordinate and communicate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations.

Required profile

• Associate degree, military technical training, field service experience or trade certification.
• 1–2 years of experience in customer/field service support or a related technical field.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport for travel.

Required skills

• Basic mechanical aptitude with pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum or thermodynamics.
• Proficiency with hand tools and digital multimeters.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
