Director, Financial Institutions Group Japan

About the role

ANZ is seeking a Director for its Financial Institutions Group (FIG) in Japan. The role will drive the Institutional strategy, expand market share among financial institutions, and grow revenue across products and geographies while maintaining rigorous risk and compliance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute client acquisition strategies in partnership with product specialists.
• Manage and grow a portfolio of existing financial institution clients, delivering exceptional service.
• Strengthen senior‑level relationships and optimise revenue mix through strategic account management.
• Originate, structure and execute deals, collaborating with internal product and enablement teams.
• Drive cross‑selling opportunities and conduct financial analysis, including credit assessments and KYC.
• Maintain internal stakeholder relationships across regional management, product partners, and credit teams.
• Ensure all credit files are up‑to‑date, pass internal audits and meet KYC requirements.

Required profile

• Proven experience in transaction banking, financial markets and lending products for financial institutions.
• Strong track record of managing senior client relationships and delivering revenue growth.
• Excellent understanding of risk, compliance and credit assessment processes.
• Ability to work collaboratively across global teams and regional partners.
