Financial Performance Manager - APAC

About the role

Exotec, a robotics company serving retail and e-commerce brands, is looking for a BU Financial Performance Manager for APAC based in Tokyo. As the finance leader for Japan and the wider APAC region, you will act as a trusted business partner to local leadership and global stakeholders in a highly autonomous role spanning strategic planning, performance analysis, compliance, governance and process improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all finance activities across Japan and APAC and drive reporting, budgeting, forecasting, reforecasting and long-term business planning, giving financial insights to improve performance, efficiency and profitability.
• Partner with business leaders to support decision-making and improve financial performance across functions.
• Lead monthly closing, oversee cash flow, working capital, cost control and financial risk management.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax requirements, financial regulations and internal controls.
• Manage relationships with auditors, banks, accounting firms, tax authorities and other external partners.
• Drive process optimization, automation and scalable ways of working, using external providers where appropriate.
• Foster collaboration between local and global teams and align Japanese business needs with Exotec's global framework.

Required profile

• Experienced finance leader with a strong background in international companies operating in Japan.
• Broad finance expertise across FP&A, controlling, accounting, compliance, treasury and business partnering.
• Fluent Japanese is required; native Japanese is a strong plus.
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence across cultures and functions.
• Comfortable working as a stand-alone finance leader with a pragmatic, business-oriented approach.
• Experience leading change and supporting organizational transformation is highly desirable.
• Able to balance local business needs with global processes.

• Fluent English (C1+).
• Japanese (N2+, preferably N1).
