Senior Finance Business Partner - General Medicine Portfolio (Japan)

About the role

Amgen is hiring a Senior Finance Business Partner in Tokyo, Japan, reporting to the Associate Finance Director, Japan Affiliate. The role provides financial leadership and business partnering support to Amgen Japan's General Medicine portfolio, acting as the primary finance partner to the Executive Director of General Medicine and the cross-functional leadership team. It also leads and develops a Finance Business Partner and advances capabilities through new technologies, automation and analytics.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a trusted finance partner to the General Medicine leadership team, challenging assumptions and influencing decisions through financial and non-financial analysis.
• Lead short- and long-term sales forecasting, own OPEX forecasting, budgeting and financial planning, and monitor performance against forecasts.
• Develop and evaluate investment proposals, assess commercial opportunities and launch investments, and quantify financial impact, risks and ROI.
• Leverage data analytics, visualization tools and automation to turn data into insights, simplify reporting and champion digital tools and AI-enabled solutions.
• Lead, coach and develop a Finance Business Partner (Manager), including mentoring, career development and succession planning.
• Drive process excellence, compliance and adherence to Amgen policies, and share best practices with regional finance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• Significant experience in finance, business partnering, FP&A or commercial finance.
• Demonstrated people leadership with direct management responsibility is preferred.
• Fluent Japanese and English, written and spoken.
• Preferred: healthcare or life sciences experience, professional finance qualification (CPA, CMA, ACA, ACCA, MBA or equivalent), and experience supporting senior commercial leaders.
