Forward Deployed Engineer (Agentic AI)

About the role

Rimini Street, a global provider of enterprise software support, managed services and Agentic AI ERP solutions for Oracle, SAP and VMware, is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer (Agentic AI) for its Innovation team. Reporting to the VP, Innovation, Solution Delivery, the engineer embeds with enterprise clients remotely, with onsite visits as needed, to design, build and operationalize agentic AI solutions in production. The role is platform-agnostic and adapts to the client's chosen AI platform.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery, scope agentic AI use cases and turn business problems into engineering deliverables with measurable success criteria.
• Design target architectures and write production-grade code within the client's source control, CI/CD and release governance.
• Build and tune retrieval pipelines, prompts, guardrails, agent orchestration and human-in-the-loop controls.
• Implement enterprise-safe agent tool execution with permission scoping, approval gates, audit trails and rollback paths.
• Build evaluation suites for hallucinations, regressions and grounding gaps, and set up production observability for latency, token usage, error rates and accuracy.
• Integrate solutions with identity, secrets management, network controls, incident response and compliance tooling.
• Run a structured handover to the support team and act as escalation backup afterwards.
• Build trusted advisor relationships with client engineering, data, security and business stakeholders, and share learnings as reusable patterns and reference architectures.

Required profile

• Principal-level role: 8+ years of professional engineering experience, with significant production time.
• 2+ years shipping AI or ML systems into production, with hands-on agentic or LLM-based work.
• Proven work with Fortune 500 or Global 2000 enterprise clients and full-system lifecycle ownership.
• Hands-on experience with an ERP supported by Rimini Street (SAP, Oracle E-Business Suite, JD Edwards), or strong process depth in procurement, finance and order-to-cash; direct SAP or Oracle EBS experience preferred.
• Prior experience as a Forward Deployed Engineer, Applied AI Engineer or similar embedded delivery role is welcomed.

Required skills

• Production Python and at least one other enterprise or full-stack language (TypeScript, Java, Go, C#, Scala).
• SQL and data modelling, including data quality, lineage and permissions.
• Retrieval-augmented generation (chunking, embeddings, vector stores, reranking) and evaluation suites for LLMs.
• Production observability for AI systems and agent tool execution and governance (e.g., Model Context Protocol).
• Enterprise integration (REST, event-driven, OIDC, SAML) and UI fluency in Angular, React or similar.
• Durable execution, event-driven architectures and workflow orchestration.
• Experience with multiple agentic AI platforms (AWS Bedrock, Azure AI, Google Vertex AI, ServiceNow AI) and willingness to learn others.
