Guide Safety Officer (Hybrid) – Niseko

About the role

Rhythm Rides is seeking a hybrid Guide Safety Officer for its Niseko operation from November through March. The role splits time between technical safety leadership on the mountain and delivering backcountry tours when operationally appropriate.

Key responsibilities

• Provide daily field‑based technical safety leadership for the guide operation.
• Gather and analyse snowpack, weather, terrain and hazard information while guiding guests.
• Set and communicate clear, conservative operating parameters and daily terrain availability.
• Conduct technical briefings, coach guides on‑snow, and support their development.
• Lead emergency readiness, incident response and escalation of technical risks.
• When schedules allow, deliver backcountry tours at the applicable guide rate.

Required profile

• Seasonal availability November‑March, 30‑40 hours per week.
• Experience in backcountry guiding, ski safety or avalanche assessment.
• Strong decision‑making ability and a safety‑first mindset.
• Excellent communication skills for briefings and guest interaction.

What we offer

• Hourly wage from ¥2,640 to ¥2,850 (≈ ¥516,425‑¥557,197 per month).
