Intelligence Advisor (Japan)

About the role

Strider Technologies is seeking an Intelligence Advisor focused on the Japan market to help organizations navigate geopolitics, emerging technology, and economic security. You will translate complex intelligence and fragmented data into clear, decision‑ready insights for senior executives and operational leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research and analysis on nation‑state activity, focusing on strategic intent, economic policy, and technology acquisition.
• Analyze emerging and dual‑use technologies such as AI, semiconductors, quantum, biotechnology, space systems, and advanced manufacturing.
• Identify indicators of economic coercion, espionage, illicit technology transfer, and supply‑chain vulnerabilities.
• Develop intelligence products that connect technical signals and geopolitical developments to strategic business implications.
• Map relationships among governments, companies, academic institutions, and global supply chains to pinpoint risks.
• Deliver timely, actionable insights to senior leaders and operational stakeholders.
• Act as liaison between Japan‑based client needs and U.S. intelligence, product, and engineering teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve Strider’s datasets, workflows, and analytic capabilities for the Japan market.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to adapt products and intelligence capabilities to regional client requirements.
• Support client workshops, training sessions, and thought‑leadership engagements in Japan and the broader region.

Required profile

• 3+ years professional experience in strategic intelligence, geopolitical risk analysis, economic security, or a related field.
• Expertise in the People’s Republic of China’s science and technology strategy, including technology acquisition and industrial policy.
• Experience conducting open‑source intelligence (OSINT) research and analysis.
• Professional proficiency in Mandarin Chinese and strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to communicate complex analytical findings clearly in Japanese.
• Proven ability to develop intelligence products that translate technical or geopolitical developments into operationally relevant insights.
• Strong ownership, accountability, and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, client‑facing environment.
