Manager III, Customer Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is a global leader in materials engineering solutions that enable the production of semiconductor and advanced display chips. The Manager III, Customer Engineer will lead a district of customer engineers, ensuring strong relationships with customers and delivering innovative solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain customer relationships across the district, including regular visits and acting as the primary interface with product divisions.
• Lead, coach, and manage all customer engineers in the district, handling salary and career planning, performance appraisals, and corrective actions.
• Oversee account planning with the District Sales Engineer, financial forecasting, cost efficiency, and system installation planning and execution.
• Manage RMA procedures, monitor engineer effectiveness, and ensure accurate tracking of customer engineer hours.
• Execute escalation procedures and monitor programs such as the CSD Award and mentor initiatives.

Required profile

• Demonstrated leadership ability to direct employees, administer policies, and conduct performance reviews.
• Strong problem‑solving judgment within defined procedures to make appropriate decisions.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for presenting technical information and gaining cooperation across teams.
• Commitment to adhere to Applied Materials’ global Standards of Business Conduct and ethical standards.
