MDP Customer Engineer II

About the role

As a Field Service Engineer (Customer Engineer) at Applied Materials, you will act as the primary liaison with customers, installing, maintaining and upgrading semiconductor equipment. You will use digital analytics and basic diagnostic techniques to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on site.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior engineers to install, maintain and upgrade customer equipment.
• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on electrical, vacuum, mechanical, plasma, hydraulic and gas systems.
• Use digital analytics for troubleshooting and apply basic diagnostic techniques under guidance.
• Coordinate and communicate directly with customers to ensure smooth operations.

Required profile

• Associate degree, military technical training, field service experience or trade certification.
• 1–2 years of customer/field service support or related technical experience.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a passport for travel.

Required skills

• Digital analytics tools.
• Basic diagnostic techniques.
• Hand tools usage, including digital multimeters.
• Mechanical aptitude with pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum or thermodynamics.
• Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
