Pediatric Psychologist – On‑site in Okinawa, Japan

About the role

Arcetyp LLC is seeking a licensed Pediatric Psychologist to deliver specialized clinical psychology services to children, adolescents, and their families at the U.S. Naval Hospital in Okinawa. This full‑time, on‑site position supports both pediatric mental‑health care and crisis intervention for adult patients in the emergency department.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical psychology services to patients from birth to age 21, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
• Deliver crisis intervention and acute inpatient care to adults in the Naval Hospital Emergency Department and inpatient wards.
• Administer, score, and interpret standardized psychological testing instruments for developmental, behavioral, and emotional disorders.
• Conduct bio‑psycho‑social assessments through record review, interviews, and direct observation in the outpatient child mental‑health clinic.
• Prepare written diagnostic and treatment reports within established timelines.
• Provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy using evidence‑based modalities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across USNH Okinawa, USAF 18th Medical Group, DoD Dependent Schools, and community agencies.
• Offer immediate consultation for emergent patient situations and respond to same‑day requests within 24 hours.

Required profile

• Licensed clinical psychologist with experience serving pediatric populations (birth to age 21).
• Proficiency in using DSM‑IV criteria for diagnosis.
• Experience conducting psychological testing and interpreting developmental, behavioral, and emotional assessments.
• Ability to provide crisis intervention and acute inpatient care.
• Strong collaboration skills for working with military, medical, and educational stakeholders.
