Sales Engineer (Japanese Speaking)

About the role

Datadog is hiring a Sales Engineer in Tokyo. Sales Engineers qualify and close opportunities with customers and partners, giving technical expertise through sales presentations, product demonstrations and technical evaluations (POCs). They also advise the product team on feature priorities and act as brand ambassadors, working with teams to resolve customer concerns and escalate bugs. The role is hybrid, with up to 25% travel.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with sales and customer success teams to explain Datadog's value proposition, vision and strategy to customers
• Deliver product and technical presentations to potential and existing clients
• Work directly with the product team on feature requests
• Help clients onboard the product and overcome roadblocks
• Resolve technical challenges throughout the customer lifecycle

Required profile

• Minimum 2+ years in Sales Engineering or Solutions Engineering, with DevOps/SRE or Platform Engineering experience
• Experience handling many concurrent engagements of varying size and complexity
• Comfortable delivering technical presentations and demos
• Enjoys a hybrid office culture and spending time in the Tokyo office
• Able to travel up to 25% of the time
• Native-level Japanese (written and spoken) is required, as you communicate directly with customers in Japan
