Senior Consultant - Internal Audit (IAFA)

About the role

The Senior Consultant is responsible for directly supervising consultants in executing internal audit project work plans and carries out client-facing engagement work. Acting as role model and trainer, the consultant demonstrates excellent client service and helps team members build technical and professional competence, while identifying risks and opportunities to improve business processes.

Key responsibilities

• Review, document, evaluate and test controls across a wide range of environments
• Communicate control strengths and weaknesses to the client or internal audit team and develop effective solutions
• Ensure timely completion of assigned project phases
• Develop and maintain effective client relationships
• Apply knowledge of Protiviti policies and methodologies, and use business process and technical understanding to complete projects
• Supervise and train project personnel
• Prepare audit reports on findings and recommendations for senior management

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Accounting, Finance or Business-related); minimum GPA 3.0
• 3+ years in a related field, preferably in professional services and/or industry
• Professional certification such as CPA or CISA strongly preferred
• "Big 4" internal audit experience strongly preferred
• Deep experience auditing financial services and banking institutions, and in home lending / credit audits covering the credit life cycle
• Regulatory or IT experience is a plus
• Frequent travel throughout the month required

Required skills

• Current accounting (GAAP) and auditing (GAAS) principles
• Internal control concepts (COSO, COBIT)
• Auditing processes, including flowcharting
• Sarbanes-Oxley Act provisions and compliance methodologies
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Project management, supervisory and analytical skills
