Senior Technical Solutions Engineer - Platform (Support)

About the role

Databricks is hiring a Senior Technical Solutions Engineer in Tokyo to provide technical support for Databricks Platform-related issues and resolve challenges involving its unified analytics platform. You will help customers use Databricks products to reach their strategic goals, answering questions from basic technical queries to complex architectural scenarios across the Big Data ecosystem. You report to the Senior Manager of Technical Solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex customer issues related to the Databricks platform
• Provide best-practice support for custom-built solutions developed by customers
• Suggest performance improvements for customer-specific environments
• Help with issues around third-party integrations with the Databricks environment
• Coordinate with engineering and escalation teams to resolve customer issues and requests
• Contribute to company documentation and knowledge articles
• Take part in weekend and weekday on-call rotation

Required profile

• 4+ years of experience designing, building, testing and maintaining Python/Java/Scala applications; expert-level Python is desired
• Strong experience with SQL-based databases
• Linux/Unix administration skills
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure or GCP
• Experience in distributed big data computing environments
• Technical degree or equivalent experience
• Written and spoken Japanese and English
