Strategic Account Executive, Public Sector Japan

About the role

Datadog is hiring an experienced Federal, Civilian Sales Executive for its Public Sector division in Japan. The team sells a best-of-breed observability and security platform to large civilian agencies and accounts in transition to the cloud, following a defined methodology and supporting personal development.

Key responsibilities

• Prospect large Fortune 1000 companies while running an efficient sales process
• Maintain, build and own relationship maps for the territory, including existing relationships and aspirational contacts
• Develop a deep understanding of each customer's business
• Negotiate pricing and business terms by selling value and ROI
• Manage existing customer expectations while expanding reach in the territory
• Ensure high forecasting accuracy and consistency

Required profile

• 5+ years of closing experience, mixing field selling in mid-market and enterprise
• Has met or exceeded direct sales goals of 1M+ with an average deal size of $100k+
• Able to prospect and build pipeline independently
• Experience selling to large Fortune 1000 companies and winning new logos
• Experience in an innovative tech company (SaaS, IT infrastructure or similar preferred)
• Regular travel to client sites within the area and other regions
