HR Manager – Japan

About the role

IMI is seeking an HR Manager for its Process Automation business in Japan. The role partners with the Managing Director and senior leadership to drive the local HR agenda, align with global people strategy, and support business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the Managing Director to set HR goals, update policies, and ensure alignment with business strategy.
• Lead the full employee lifecycle, including talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, and succession planning.
• Develop and execute local HR strategy, budgeting, and cost control.
• Manage compensation, benefits, and annual salary surveys to maintain market competitiveness.
• Drive inclusion, diversity, and employee engagement initiatives.
• Maintain HR information systems, reporting, and headcount alignment with finance.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or related field.
• Minimum 5 years progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or HR Business Partner role.
• Fluent in Japanese (native level) and English (business‑fluent) with excellent communication skills.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, coach leaders, and manage change.

Required skills

• Experience with HR Information Systems (HRIS) and data analysis.
• Knowledge of compensation and benefits program administration.
