AI Support Engineer (Korean Speaking) – Tokyo

About the role

OpenAI’s User Operations team is building the first post‑AGI support function. As an AI Support Engineer you will work directly with customers in Tokyo, troubleshooting high‑impact technical issues and helping shape world‑class support for an AI‑driven future.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve complex API failures, integration challenges, authentication errors, and production incidents.
• Provide end‑to‑end ownership by debugging logs, reproducing issues, and delivering expert guidance.
• Act as a trusted escalation point, partnering with Engineering to prevent recurring problems and improve tooling.
• Drive automation and AI‑powered workflows to increase team efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Participate in on‑call rotation for holiday and weekend coverage as needed.

Required profile

• Fluent business‑level Korean (spoken and written) and English.
• 8+ years of experience in User Operations, Support Engineering, or similar technical roles, preferably in fast‑growth tech environments.
• Strong enterprise communication skills and calm demeanor during high‑stakes incident calls.
• Proven ability to build relationships with customers and cross‑functional partners to drive resolution.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Required skills

• Python programming for scripting and automation.
• Experience with OpenAI API, Codex, and ChatGPT.
• Expert‑level SaaS troubleshooting and API debugging.
