Business & Operations Founder – Japan

About the role

Pragmatike is recruiting for a YC‑backed health technology company that is expanding into Japan. The Business & Operations Founder will own the launch and early growth of the local operation, building the business from the ground up.

Key responsibilities

• Own the launch and day‑to‑day business operations in Japan.
• Build the local presence, including partners, vendors, and operational processes.
• Identify and develop commercial opportunities and strategic partnerships.
• Navigate the Japanese healthcare ecosystem and regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with the global leadership team to adapt the business for Japan.
• Represent the company with customers, partners, healthcare organisations, and other stakeholders.
• Drive execution of new initiatives and act as the local point person across business, operations, and market development.

Required profile

• Proven experience building, launching, or operating a business, team, or new market in Japan.
• Strong entrepreneurial mindset with a scrappy, hands‑on approach.
• Comfortable working with significant autonomy and ambiguity.
• Excellent business development, operations, and stakeholder management skills.
• Deep understanding of the Japanese business environment and fluent English.
• Strong communication and relationship‑building abilities.
