About the role
Applied Materials is seeking an Electrical Engineer II to design, modify, and troubleshoot electrical assemblies for semiconductor manufacturing equipment. The role involves creating schematics, coordinating component procurement, and ensuring equipment performance and safety.
Key responsibilities
- Conceptual electrical design including power distribution diagrams, AC/DC calculations, PLC configuration, I/O lists, and layout planning.
- Prepare bill of materials, coordinate purchases, and manage interlock lists.
- Debug equipment, perform functional verification, root‑cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Conduct electrical safety testing such as ground resistance, dielectric withstand voltage, power consumption, temperature, and noise measurements.
- Develop new circuit designs, select components, validate functionality, and identify replacements for obsolete parts.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 2–4 years of relevant experience in semiconductor equipment or similar industry.
Required skills
- Electrical design and layout planning.
- PLC configuration and I/O list creation.
- Bill of materials preparation and component procurement.
- Equipment debugging and root‑cause analysis.
- Electrical safety testing (ground resistance, dielectric testing, etc.).
- Circuit design and component selection.
