Enterprise Account Executive, Retail

About the role

Anthropic is seeking an Enterprise Account Executive, Retail to lead the adoption of its safe AI solutions across Japan’s retail and consumer‑commerce landscape. Based in Tokyo, you will own the full sales cycle, from prospecting to closing, partnering with senior leaders to modernise operations, personalise customer experiences and strengthen competitive advantage.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve and exceed revenue targets by acquiring new major retail accounts and expanding existing relationships across supermarkets, convenience‑store chains, e‑commerce platforms and omnichannel brands.
• Develop and execute territory plans that identify high‑value opportunities within specialty retailers, fashion houses and marketplace platforms.
• Lead consultative sales engagements with C‑level executives (CIO, CDO, CMO, heads of supply‑chain and e‑commerce) to position AI for demand forecasting, personalization, inventory optimisation and enhanced customer experience.
• Coordinate cross‑functional internal teams (Product, Engineering, Applied AI, Partnerships) to deliver integrated solutions that comply with Japan’s APPI data‑privacy framework.

Required profile

• 8+ years of enterprise sales experience in Japan, with a strong focus on retail and consumer‑commerce accounts.
• Proven record of managing complex, multi‑stakeholder sales cycles and closing strategic deals with large‑scale retailers.
• Ability to navigate retail stakeholder ecosystems, building consensus across merchandising, supply‑chain, digital and CX teams.
• Demonstrated success in meeting revenue targets across seasonal retail cycles.
• Hands‑on, “roll‑up‑your‑sleeves” attitude and comfort working in ambiguous, startup‑like environments.
• Strategic, analytical mindset with a relationship‑focused execution style.
• Passion for advanced AI systems and commitment to safe, responsible AI development.
