Head of Marketing, Japan

About the role

NetApp is looking for a Head of Marketing for its Japan business, based in Tokyo. This senior leadership role works closely with Sales and Marketing to set strategy, planning and execution aligned with the Japan sales objectives. It is the single point of contact for the Sales leadership team and leads a team of marketing professionals as a people manager (M4 level).

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the NetApp Japan pipeline through demand generation and move customers through the funnel, from brand awareness to demand.
• Drive growth by expanding the footprint among existing customers and acquiring new ones.
• Lead the marketing team, setting operational objectives, policies and work plans.
• Analyze Japan market opportunities and challenges, and build a marketing strategy aligned with sales needs.
• Act as the bridge between sales leadership and marketing, supporting joint planning with local field leaders.
• Create a joint marketing plan across the marketing organization and manage the Japan area budget.
• Evaluate marketing performance and influence stakeholders on departmental outcomes.

Required profile

• 12-15+ years of relevant experience, including strategic and people leadership, and 6-8+ years in direct management.
• Extensive experience in Japan marketing and a proven track record.
• B2B marketing leadership experience, preferably in technology organizations.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in marketing, business, communications or a related field.
• Native-level Japanese and business-level English.
