Lead Solutions Engineer

About the role

The Lead Solutions Engineer is a technical expert and trusted advisor who will drive Acquia’s growth across the Japan market. This role sits at the intersection of business strategy and technical architecture, focusing on winning new‑logo business and expanding existing accounts within the Acquia Digital Experience Platform portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Account Executives and channel/SI partners to identify, qualify, and win new‑logo opportunities across Japan.
• Identify and accelerate cross‑sell and expansion opportunities within strategic accounts, mapping Acquia’s DXP portfolio to client roadmaps.
• Lead technical discovery, design, and presentation of DXP solutions tailored to each customer’s business priorities.
• Design and execute custom proofs‑of‑concept that demonstrate clear business value.
• Enable partners at the pre‑sales layer, coaching them to present Acquia solutions confidently.
• Represent Acquia at industry events, webinars, and community gatherings to increase market visibility.

Required profile

• Proven experience in solutions engineering, sales engineering, or a highly technical pre‑sales role.
• Strong understanding of enterprise CMS/DXP concepts and modern digital experience trends.
• Solid knowledge of modern web architectures and deployment on major public clouds (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including APIs and security fundamentals.
• Demonstrated ability to work through partners/channels to source and win business.
• Native‑level Japanese and business‑level English communication skills.
• Self‑starter who can work autonomously while maintaining visibility with the team.
