Principal Consultant – Commercial Strategy Business Consulting

About the role

Veeva’s Japan Business Consulting combines strategy and technology to help life‑science companies accelerate commercial success. As a Principal Business Consultant you will join the Japan Business Consulting Leadership Team, driving practice growth across Japan and APAC while shaping the firm’s market presence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead business development by identifying new project opportunities, clarifying client needs, and crafting differentiated proposals to win work.
• Leverage your network to build relationships with senior stakeholders in pharmaceutical commercial organizations.
• Support the creation of new campaigns, service offerings, and thought‑leadership content that differentiate Veeva’s consulting services.
• Lead multiple project teams, overseeing scope, delivery, quality assurance, and client engagement economics.
• Stay current on industry trends and digital technology drivers affecting commercial operations.

Required profile

• 10+ years of advisory experience in Life Sciences, especially Commercial Operations or Commercial Excellence.
• Strong understanding of digital technology capabilities and market forces shaping the industry.
• Proven leadership in delivering advisory engagements and managing client relationships.
• Extensive network of senior leaders within Life Science companies.
• Core management‑consulting skills, including workshop facilitation, client presentations, and structured problem‑solving.
• Deep expertise across the commercial value chain (e.g., brand strategy, product launch, go‑to‑market, commercial analytics).
• Willingness to travel roughly 50% of the time.
• Fluent in English and Japanese, both spoken and written.
• Valid working visa for Japan.
