Principal, Financial Planning & Analysis

About the role

Coupang's Rocket Now, a food delivery service in Japan, is hiring a Principal, Financial Planning & Analysis in Tokyo. This is a strategic finance role working closely with Rocket Now business leaders to build the operating and financial plan needed to meet strategic goals, and to drive decisions on growth, margins, operating profit and cash flow. It also supports modelling for new launches, supplier negotiations and customer analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Own and manage a fast-growing P&L covering partner selection, delivery logistics, marketing schemes and more.
• Partner with business, operations and tech leaders to achieve company-wide goals.
• Analyse end-to-end food delivery service, identify variances and root causes, and drive business solutions.
• Forecast, track and update analysis and modelling across millions of data points.
• Define key KPIs and use predictive analysis to monitor progress and act in real time.
• Help automate reporting with business intelligence tools and improve existing dashboards.

Required profile

• Native-level Japanese fluency.
• Relevant experience in financial planning and analysis in a fast-paced organisation.
• Experience leading and developing new financial processes, models and tools.
• Team management and strong communication skills with non-finance leaders.
• Ability to explain complex financial topics and tell business stories.
• Strong analytical thinking, starting from a problem statement and reaching data-backed solutions.

Required skills

• Financial modelling and data analysis.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Establishing and managing KPIs.
• Preferred: CPA/CA, MBA, SQL (NoSQL).
