Sales Director - Japan

About the role

Formlabs is growing its Japan presence and is looking for a Sales Director to lead and scale its business there. The role drives channel sales growth, empowers existing partners and expands the partner network, supporting customers in sectors such as automotive, medical devices and defense.

Key responsibilities

• Drive overall channel sales growth in Japan (30%+)
• Support, manage and scale existing channel partners to maximise sales
• Identify, recruit and onboard new channel partners
• Partner with distributors on complex, high-value enterprise sales
• Guide partners on technical solutions, product demos and executive presentations
• Develop account and territory strategies across industrial, medical and dental sectors
• Share market intelligence and competitive feedback from Japan with global leadership

Required profile

• STEM degree or engineering background
• Native Japanese speaker with business-level English
• Experience in a channel sales model
• Comfortable working independently in a market where Formlabs is still building brand awareness
• Able to travel regularly across Japan to visit customers and partners

Bonus skills

• Background in manufacturing, dental, medical or automotive industries
• Experience with 3D printing, additive manufacturing or adjacent hardware technologies
• Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms
• Experience in a high-growth technology or startup environment
