Senior Manager, Business Analytics & Insights (BAI)

About the role

Amgen's Business Analytics & Insights (BAI) function aims to be a strategic engine of change for its commercial organization, enabling data-driven decisions and customer excellence. The Senior Manager leads the generation of actionable business insights, forecasting and analytics for inline and pipeline products, partnering with Business Units and cross-functional stakeholders. The role combines strategic thinking with hands-on leadership, covering business partnership, people leadership, operational execution and quality oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Business Units and stakeholders to support business strategy, brand performance and data-driven decisions, and turn complex analyses into clear, actionable insights.
• Lead forecasting across assigned brands, including short- and long-term product forecasts, and challenge assumptions to ensure robust, unbiased forecasts.
• Oversee commercial insights and analytics, including market research, secondary analytics, competitive intelligence and performance tracking, and coach the team on storytelling.
• Prioritize analytics, forecasting and insights work across brands and align stakeholders through data-driven discussions.
• Lead, coach and develop the team, strengthen analytical frameworks and forecasting practices, and step in personally when resources are constrained.

Required profile

• Experience in sales forecasting, commercial analytics, business insights or related functions within the pharmaceutical industry in Japan.
• Experience supporting commercial decisions through analytics, forecasting and market insights, and leading complex analytical projects.
• Prior people management or team leadership experience.
• Bachelor's or master's degree in a natural science-related field or an MBA.
• Fluent English, spoken and written.

Required skills

• Ability to translate complex analyses into clear business narratives.
• Project management, prioritization and resource allocation.
• Proficiency in analytical and visualization tools such as Tableau, SQL, Python or related platforms.
• Experience with pharmaceutical industry datasets such as IQVIA, MDV and JMDC.
