Senior Manager, Corporate Affairs - Japan

About the role

Amgen is looking for a Senior Manager of Corporate Affairs to join its team in Tokyo. Reporting to the Director and Head of Corporate Affairs for Japan, the role sits in a matrixed environment and works closely with cross-functional teams in Japan, the Japan and Asia Pacific (JAPAC) region and global Corporate Affairs. It shapes and executes integrated communications strategies supporting Amgen K.K.'s objectives and strengthens relationships with key external stakeholders, including patient advocacy organizations in Japan.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver product communications for new medicine launches and expanded indications.
• Run integrated communications across media, emerging media, social and digital channels for corporate priorities, therapeutic areas and brand milestones.
• Build Amgen K.K.'s reputation through authentic storytelling that resonates with audiences across Japan.
• Lead an advocacy engagement strategy with patient advocacy groups to amplify the patient voice and support access to care.
• Drive disease and patient education communications with the Brand team, including Marketing, Medical and Value and Access.
• Work with Commercial, Government Affairs, Medical, Legal and Regulatory on communication activities highlighting Amgen's commitment to innovation and to Japanese society.
• Support internal communication to build a connected, energized employee culture.
• Leverage generative AI and analytics tools to improve quality, speed and personalization of communications.
• Share best practices with colleagues in JAPAC and the Global Corporate Affairs team, and oversee vendors where appropriate.

Required profile

• Master's degree and 6 years of communications and/or advocacy experience, or Bachelor's degree and 4 years of such experience.
• Preferred: fluent Japanese and English.
• Preferred: proven experience in corporate communications, public affairs or public relations, or an adjacent field, within healthcare, pharmaceuticals or biotechnology.
• Preferred: experience in a multinational, matrixed organization and cross-cultural collaboration across JAPAC and global teams.
• Preferred: understanding of Japanese culture, landscape and stakeholder expectations.
