Customer Support Technician I – DDP

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a DDP Customer Support Technician I to join its Yokkaichi site. You will work on Tier I procedures, preventative maintenance and basic diagnostics for semiconductor and display equipment, supporting customers while developing technical expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Perform Tier I procedures, preventative maintenance and wet‑cleans, escalating when needed.
• Assist senior engineers with corrective maintenance and kit management, including disassembly, cleaning and rebuilding.
• Apply basic diagnostic techniques using documentation and test equipment under guidance.
• Diagnose and resolve basic technical problems while following IP and safety guidelines.
• Maintain a professional customer service demeanor and an orderly work area.

Required profile

• Physically demanding role requiring extensive walking, standing, bending, lifting up to 35 lb, and work in tight spaces.
• Ability to work in a clean‑room environment using appropriate PPE (coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, face shields).
• Basic analytical or scientific method skills to perform straightforward activities.
• Understanding of team integration and standard operating procedures.
