Field CTO (Japan)

About the role

Datadog is looking for a Field CTO to lead its GTM technical strategy for the entire Japan region. The role sits within the Product Solutions Architecture (PSA) organization and acts as a trusted advisor to customers' senior executives, helping them adopt observability and security platforms. The position is hybrid.

Key responsibilities

• Guide C-level customer and prospect executives through their observability adoption journey, investment decisions and operations.
• Identify industry trends during customer engagements and feed the top of the funnel for Product, GTM, BVA and Architecture teams, co-creating industry solutions with Product SAs and Product Management.
• Showcase Datadog's platform and build thought leadership in observability and security, highlighting advanced solutions and best practices.
• Advise Sales leaders and executives on ROI, value realization and white-space analysis, and help shape opportunity and adoption strategies per vertical.
• Work with PSA, Sales, Sales Engineering and Marketing to deliver technical resources to practitioners and economic buyers.
• Lead architecture and design presentations and take part in Executive Briefings with high-profile customers and prospects.
• Assist leadership in recruiting top talent for the PSA and Field CTO teams.

Required profile

• 15+ years of enterprise or application architecture at scale, mapping architectures to real-world use cases, with deep knowledge of observability, cloud and technological shifts in Japan.
• Experience influencing VP+ and C-level stakeholders in large enterprises.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field; Master's preferred.
• Excellent presentation skills for large audiences and executives, and strong verbal and written communication linking product to business value and ROI.
• Native Japanese with strong spoken and written English.
