Manager III, Customer Engineer

About the role

As a Manager III, Customer Engineer you will lead a district of customer engineers, building strong relationships with customers and ensuring successful installation and support of Applied Materials' semiconductor and display equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain customer relationships across all levels in the district, conducting regular visits.
• Manage, coach, and direct customer engineers, handling salary and career planning, performance appraisals, and corrective actions.
• Serve as the primary interface with product divisions for technical support, training, spares, and reliability.
• Oversee account planning with District Sales Engineer and provide financial forecasts and cost‑efficiency measures.
• Lead system installation planning, reporting, and execution, including pre‑facility and start‑up meetings.
• Manage RMA procedures, engineer effectiveness metrics, and accurate tracking of engineer hours.

Required profile

• Ability to provide direction and administer company policies affecting subordinate employees.
• Strong judgment to solve problems within defined procedures and policies.
• Effective interpersonal skills to gain cooperation and present technical information.
