Planner II – Senior Regional Planning

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Planner II to lead regional planning activities in Tokyo. The role combines strategic planning, demand forecasting, and inventory management to support the company’s semiconductor and display equipment business.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic plans, new processes, tools, and data visualisation systems for the planning and operations community.
• Manage service parts planning, including demand forecasting, inventory control, ramp, and service contract planning.
• Collaborate with senior managers, technical experts, sales, logistics and other departments to align planning activities with business requirements.
• Lead funded projects, ensuring timely and on‑budget delivery while providing technical assistance to stakeholders.

Required profile

• BA/BS degree (or equivalent) in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related field.
• At least three years of experience in inventory, supply, material or demand planning, preferably in the semiconductor industry.
• Fluent in English and Japanese with strong business acumen.
• Proven problem‑solving ability and experience leading or mentoring a team of planners.

Required skills

• Advanced Tableau or other data‑visualisation tools.
• Knowledge of service parts planning concepts and techniques.
• Supply chain management expertise.
• Project management skills.
